Could not resist taking these.

It did not look staged or contrived at the time, but looking at it now I can see the whole B & B was a carefully stagemanaged filmset.

But none the worse for it!

Go + stay there when you want to a civilised short break in Normandy and tell the Osmonts that I recommended their delightful home (their son runs a decent restaurant, or should that be “table”, in Honfleur called “L’Endroit”).

  1. congrats on launch week for Savvy Kids, Monique!

Regarding the comment you make about it being sad that we can’t eat conkers, I suggest cobnuts for a seasonal nutty deliciousness right now…they are lovely toasted with grilled courgettes and shavings of Wensleydale cheese!

    warm greetings, Sarah.

  2. Dear Monique, I am glad that preparing the compote has been a welcome relaxation time aside from your grant application work. I can quite understand how you feel….when approaching my driving theory test and having to sit with my driving dvds every day in August, I found picking and then delivering plums to as many as 30 local friends’ homes a relaxing diversion each afternoon, as well as being good practice for my manoeuvres and reversing etc!

I hope the grant application is enthusiastically received….I certainly am inspired by your vision for the project ahead!

    warm greetings, Sarah.

    • Looking forward to coming up for air post 9/10; am already thinking about testing a few new autumn + winter recipes to add to Savvy Cook’s collection.

      Monique x
